Summary. Honeybees are in trouble. Recent years have seen unprecedented colony losses, with far reaching consequences for honey production and, even more importantly, pollination in agriculture and ecology. In this minisymposium, researchers with expertise in different aspects of this spectrum, from honeybee disease and ecology to pollination webs, will present their work. Such a multi-pronged, system level approach will give a bottom-up picture how colony level stress impacts pollination ecology. This session is an attempt to move forward to this goal. The mathematical methods used included with the angle taken, ranging from traditional ordinary differential equations to statistical finite mixture models.
