Hey AP Biology teachers -- got math? Join us for a workshop focused on getting comfortable with the quantitative side of the newly revised AP Biology course. The program will feature hands-on experience with inquiry activities that use real data, tools for graphing, modeling, and much more. Work collaboratively to add or enrich the quantitative aspects of your favorite AP Biology lab.
The workshop will be led by the BioQUEST Curriculum Consortium, a 25-year biology education reform community that focuses on helping faculty develop and implement innovative curricula. In addition to a College Board consultant who will be sharing strategies and resources on preparing for the AP Biology changes, presenters include Claudia Neuhauser, Vice Chancellor at the University of Minnesota Rochester and author of Calculus for Biology and Medicine; Kristin Jenkins, from the University of Wisconsin Institute for Biology Education; Ethel Stanley, co-author of the Biological Inquiry: a Workbook of Investigative Cases; and Stacey Kiser, incoming President of NABT.
