Research Experiences for Veterinary Students

2010 Summer Program
National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis
(NIMBioS) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville

June 7 - July 30, 2010

Veterinary students (DVM, VMD) will live on campus and work in teams with UTK professors on research projects. In addition to research mentors, some teams will include undergraduate students majoring in math, biology, and related fields.

Stipend and housing will be provided, along with some travel support.

Project research areas:

  • Modeling dog and cat population dynamics at the community level (Lenhart, New)
  • Using modeling to evaluate diagnostic procedures for Johne's disease in cattle (Lenhart, Eda, Agusto)

Application deadline: March 1, 2010. We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds.
