NIMBioS Graduate Research Assistants

NIMBioS welcomes three new graduate research assistants: Yuzhuo Chu, Mauricio Gonzalez-Forero, Mauricio Gonzalez-Forero, and Henian Xia. Requests for support are considered in the spring semester of each year for funding in the subsequent academic year. The next deadline is February 1, 2011, for assistantship activities beginning in August, 2011.

Meet the NIMBioS Postdocs

NIMBioS provides an opportunity for postdoctoral scholarship at the interface between mathematics and biological science. NIMBioS welcomes five postdoctoral fellows: Folashade Agusto, Erol Akcay, Sharon Bewick, William Godsoe, and Yi Mao. Request deadlines for NIMBioS postdoctoral support are March 1 and February 1 for activities beginning six months later.

Short-term Visitors at NIMBioS

Short-term visitors to NIMBioS are supported for periods from one week to a month to assist their efforts in carrying out research that conforms to the mission of NIMBIoS to foster research at the interface between mathematics and biology. Applications are considered four times a year, with deadlines on March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1.

Meet the New NIMBioS Faculty

As part of a major initiative associated with the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) is recruiting at least six new faculty members over the next three years whose research interests are at the interface of mathematics/computation and biology. We are delighted to welcome four new faculty members.

Sabbatical Fellows at NIMBioS

NIMBioS supports several Sabbatical Fellows each year. These individuals come to NIMBioS for a few months to a year with the length of stay determined by the objectives of the proposed project. The deadline for applications for NIMBioS sabbatical support is September 1 for activities beginning the following Winter/Spring.
